Najia Abdallaoui Maan was educated at the Universities Mohamed V (Rabat) and Essex (United Kingdom). She did a Doctorat d'Etat in applied linguistiques within a joint programme between the Faculty of Education (University Mohamed V) and the Institute of Education (University of London). She worked on Arabization and Discourse Analysis of the Moroccan press and the English press before she started working on ESP (English for Specific Purposes), EFL (English as a Foreign Language) and Reading Comprehension. Her doctoral dissertation was published in 2001 under the title "Reading Strategies of Learners of English as a Foreign Language". She has also published several articles on EFL/ESP teaching and Reading Comprehension. She is currently teaching English at Ecole des Sciences de L'Information (Rabat). She is married and mother of three daughters.
